On the way back home

This morning starts with getting me ready for the way back to Germany. I got a pint of fresh oil snd a bit of window cleaner. Micheal get his last breakfast of this journey with the members of the club. It was sad moment to leave. We had a wonderful time to meet  Jo, Roger, Margret, David, Jim, Joan, David, Freda to name only few again. We also meet people that Michael knows only via emails.

Michael decided to start with getting me some fuel and we were off to Dover.

On our way we made a stop at Mt. Ephraim Garden in Hernhile.

After that we get to Dover. The Westbank B&B has its own parking lot. A small entrance to a small area. I‘m to big for it but Michael squeezed me in. I hope that I get out of it tomorrow.

Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse

This day starts again with 2 deers on the lawn.

After Michaels breakfast we get off to Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse. It was short 25 mile trip from Fincham. On my way I followed Margaret and David in their Landrover Series 1 Recovery vehicle.

During this trip we made the same experience like in Germany, most cyclist think the are alone on the street. A group of cyclist blocked us with driving in 2 lines for about 2 miles. The road was so narrow that you only could pass them if they would ride in one line.

Luckily they turned left and we turned to the right and we could drive on. And get to the Farm, we were the last ones.

We all had a nice tour through the farm yard and the museum.

After a light lunch Micheal decided to went of to the coast. We drove along the coastline between Branchaster and Dersingham. Nearby was Sandringham, Michael thought is would be agood idea to visit the Queens house and garden. But it was closed on a Friday. So wet got back to Fincham.

At the hotel parking lot Michael did a photoshooting with a 1937 Ford Model 78-77A Standard Coupe and a 1951 Ford Prefect Ute.

At the dinner in the evening Michael was awarded with the Geoff Murrell plague for coming ale the long way from Germany with me to Fincham and join the fellow members of the Y & C Register. This means that he must come back in 2023 for the next club tour.

Bircham Mill and Fakenham Gas Works along with a trip to Castle Acre Priory

To we all get up a bit later than yesterday. Again some deers wake me up while they were grazing at the lawn.

Michael prepared me for todays trip to Bircham. This time we take a first right turn from the hotel parking lot instead of a left turn. That had confused me.We used B-Road and again the were uneven, potholes and hard ti drive. Eventually we arrived at Bircham Mill.

Next stop was the Fakenham Gas Works Museum. This city gas works was the last of it kinds.

After visiting the gas works Micheal  brought me to Castle Acre. We saw Dot &Teri and Nick & his wife.

We parked at the Priory.

The cars were later photographed while passing the Archway at the Gatehouse of the Abbey.
